Great repurposing idea

Hi, Rachel here. Just popping in very quickly today to share a link with you (I've been hit by a horrid summer cold and am feeling a bit blah, so please forgive the brevity of this post!)

I recently spotted this idea for repurposing old cosmetic jars and thought it was very cute! I personally have a whole shoebox full of these kinds of blue glass jars (I'm a Neals Yard fan) that I cannot bear to throw away, or even to put in the recycling bins, so I thought this would be a really great way of re-using them. I've never made candles before, but have always fancied having a go, and this does look pretty easy, so I think it will be going on my list of things to do!

(Link originally found via this blog).

Do let us know if you give this a try, or if you have found any other repurposing ideas that we could share here.

Hi Rachel,
I had my ete on a wicker basket that my mum had but the deal was that I had to take its contents too.... I took it home to investigate and it was full of old mugs (which I do not want and will go to charity) and 14 small white teacups and saucers.... filing them with scented candles sprung to mind and I have been researching candle making ... I think I might pop to the library to peruse some books... I think that home made candles would be fantastic as Christmas gifts this year! fabulous idea...

I'm not ionto candles myself but think it a good diea for those who are. I have a collection of blue jars and bottles (including some Neal's Yard ones) on a shelf in my downstairs loo - I love the deep bobalt colour and the varying shapes.

Yes I put little tea lights into old bottles and cups and the colourful effect is really pretty especially outside ! real fan of neal's yard products and all things organic !
